Plant Protection Developments in the Horticultural & Speciality Crop Sector – Information Seminar

The Pesticide Controls Division of the Department of Agriculture, Food and the Marine will host an information seminar on Plant Protection Developments in the Horticultural and Speciality Crop Sector on Tuesday 31st October 2017 at its headquarters in The Shared Facilities Building, Backweston Laboratory Campus, Celbridge, Co. Kildare.
Speakers on the day will include:
Mr Jeroen Meeussen from the EU Minor Use Co-ordination Facility
Mr Donal Lynch from the Pesticide Controls Division, DAFM
Ms Vivian Powell from the Agricultural and Horticultual Development Board (UK)
Mr Luc Peeters from Copa- Cogeca (European farmers and co-op representatives)
Mr Paul Brophy from the IFA horticultural committee and vegetable grower
The aim of the seminar is to facilitate a forum for discussion and to provide information on areas such as:
Challenges facing growers of speciality crops
The need for research and innovation in the speciality crop area
The regulatory hurdles in finding plant protection solutions
The role of the EU Minor Uses Co-ordination Facility
This free event is open to all and will be of special interest to all stakeholders within the horticultural industry.
